Putin Reveals He Got The Sputnik Shot

As Russia is struggling with the dosage of vaccines available, Putin decided to get vaccinated among the lack of vaccines available to the public.

“I thought that I needed to be protected as long as possible. So I chose to be vaccinated with Sputnik V. The military is getting vaccinated with Sputnik V, and after all, I’m the commander-in-chief,” Putin said during his annual phone-in session where the public submits questions to the president.

“After the first shot, I didn’t feel anything at all. About four hours later, there was some tenderness where I had the shot. I did the second [shot] at midday. At midnight, I measured my temperature. It was 37.2 [Celsius]. I went to sleep, woke up and my temperature was 36.6. That was it,” Putin said in comments translated by Reuters.

Russia had kept it a secret which vaccine did Putin take in March. It had also not been recorded or documented on video as was done by many world leaders to encourage the masses to follow the lead.

The fact that this vaccine had been approved and given to Putin much earlier in the year and that too before the clinical trials had been completed had raised a lot of eyebrows along with a lot of questions among the world.

The vaccine received by the population of Russia is not that good. Only 15% of them received the first dose of vaccine and 12% have received the second doze of the vaccine as well. So this is the current data that had been received from statistical reports. The people are in dire straits out there.

Final Words

As of Monday, only those who have been vaccinated, who have recovered from COVID-19 during the past six months, or who can submit a negative test within the previous 72 hours will be allowed entry into Moscow’s restaurants, pubs, and cafés. Customers need to go to a government website to acquire a QR code, a machine-readable digital pattern.

City officials compromised by saying that patrons eating on outside patios don’t require the QR codes. Customers who cannot prove their age will not be asked for proof if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

This week, there were small rallies against vaccination requirements in Moscow and the Sakhalin area.
