Donovanosis, A Flesh Eating STD, is Spreading in UK

There is a flesh-eating STD that has been going around the United kingdom. It is not a new STD that has been found. It was a quite rare one, but it did indeed cause a lot of trouble as it caused these painful beefy red ulcers. And let’s be honest, no one really wants to experience that. So it is causing some problems along with the life of people in the United Kingdom as we see the spread of STD.

The name of the disease is Donovanosis, and it was found around the region in the year 2016. It is a very painful disease that causes more of a sore that is present in the genital tissue.

It caused a lot of damage to the tissue in that area. According to the health officials, there is a chance that this will get more and more spread across the region over the period of time.

“Figures, as we have seen, suggest on the matter that the donovanosis — which was previously only found and thought to be restricted to places including India, Brazil, and New Guinea — had now spread to more areas. It is now becoming more and more of a common disease that is found on these shores,” said Dr. Datta, who is of the MyHealthCare Clinic in London.

The disease spreads through unprotected sex, but in some cases, it can be transmitted through nonsexual skin-to-skin contact. This can also be passed from mothers to newborn babies. But that is also very rare to be found.

Some of the symptoms that you may see because of the disease are damaged skin, loss of color in the genital tissue, and bulging red bumps that are going to be present around the genital area.

There is a treatment for this, but it is long-term. Antibiotics will take care of the issue, but it will take some time. So if you ever experience such symptoms, go to your doctor for a check-up. A check-up can never really hurt. That’s all for now. Have a good day!
