All We Know About Omicron Variant

The omicron variant of the coronavirus is the new talk of the town. Here is all that we currently know about the variant of the coronavirus. The World Health Organization had been working day and night to get the full picture of the threat that is possessed by the coronavirus, or rather we should say this new variant of concern by the coronavirus. They still do not have the full picture, though it might take them some time to get it.

Now there are some things that we already do know about this variant, so we are just going to sum it up so that you also know. The omicron variant of the coronavirus had been first found in South Africa, and now the cases are moving around the world. 13 new cases of the variant had been recently found in Portugal.

It wasn’t clear, to say the least, about the fact that whether the variant was more dangerous and more transmissible than the delta variant of the coronavirus. The number of people infected by the coronavirus is increasing, but there is no proof yet that this is because of the specific variant of omicron. It can be just the coronavirus.

“There is currently no information to suggest that symptoms associated with omicron are different from those from other variants,” WHO said.

The only thing that had been confirmed as a feature of the current variant is different from the other variants is that it has a high cause or rather chance of Reinfection. What does that mean? Well, it simply means that the people who already got the coronavirus once can now get it again, and the possibility is easier with the new variant of the coronavirus.

Scientists have said that it is seen that the omicron variant of the coronavirus is more genetically different than the other variants of them. But how this difference is making an effect is yet not known by us.
