For Windows 8 and 10

Step 1: Click the start button from the lower right corner.

Step 2: Hold on the shift key.

Step 3: Choose Shutdown-> Restart to get into Advanced Options.

If you can log in then restart the PC and interrupt the PC when you see the windows logo. Interrupt it for the 3 times. After doing this text will appear, “Preparing Automatic Repair”. When it appears, stop and wait for the system.

For Windows 7 or Lower

Restart your computer and repeatedly tap F8 until the Advanced Boot menu appears. If this option does not appear on the screen start over again and repeatedly tap the F8 key until you see this. When this option appears, select the safe mode. After doing this, you will be able to login to safe mode.

Once in safe mode, either copy the DDU file to your desktop in a new folder or save it onto a USB then or find the file where it was downloaded earlier and move it into a new folder so that extracted files will remain in the folder, else it will be extracted to the folder where you have got the files saved.

Once done, click the display driver uninstaller icon and run it. Then go ahead and select the card type from the drop-down, then select option 1 which is Clean and Restart. After finishing the driver cleaning, the system will reboot to normal mode. Now, you can go through the manufacturer’s site to install the latest driver for your Graphic card.

Method 2: Update the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller Drivers

It is the most effective method according to a wide range of window users.

Step 1: Hold down the Windows Key and then press R.

Step 2: Type down devmgmt.msc.

Step 3: Open the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller section and select the one named SATA AHCI.

Step 4: Right-click on it and then select Update Drivers.

Step 5: Select Manual Update.

Step 6: When prompted with the location, select let me pick from the list of devices driver in my computer.

Step 7: After this, Restart your Computer.

You may need to repeat the same procedure every time after your windows update. This is a normal situation. So no need to hyper and worry about it.

Method 3: Update the SSD Firmware If Available

Step 1: Click on the start menu and select the Control Panel.

Step 2: Click on View by small icons and search for the system.

Step 3: Click on device manager from the left panel.

Step 4: Double click on Disk Drives.

Step 5: Save the model number from the SSD and search the firmware on Google.

Step 6: Search a specific firmware and instructions on how to install the firmware for your drive.

Method 4: Uninstalling the Synaptic Default Drivers

Step 1: Hold the window key and Press R. Type devmgmt.msc

Step 2: Expand the mouse and other pointing devices.

Step 3: Right-click on Synaptic SMBus Touchpad and Click on Uninstall.

Step 4: Then restart the computer, and wait for the windows to install the most updated drivers for it.
